The Sacramento Pagan Pride Festival

Before I start describing my experiences at the Sacramento Pagan Pride Festival this weekend, let me apologize to everyone! I did not make it to help set up, I only attended one day, and I did not help with the Security like I had said I would. This was due to illness, which for me is no excuse for doing what you said.

Other than than that, from what I saw, the Pagan Pride Festival went off splendidly! Even when the rain came down, everyone was in a joyful mood and helped keep the vendors’ canopies connected to Mother Earth!

My family was able to meet a few of the vendors, my son had fun with his best friend, all in all, I feel that I missed out on a lot by not showing up on that Sunday.

Included are photos of the vendors that were there on Saturday, along with some general pictures of a Ritual, the rain, and more!

Only a Few Days To Go!

With only a few days until.the Sacramento Pagan Pride Festival, I will be pretty busy getting ready for the event!

I will be there during the set up, the actual festival, and the tear down to ensure complete coverage of the festival.

This will hopefully give everyone who reads my future postings an inside look at not just the two days of the festival; but also at the amount of energy it took to put on this community-building event!

So, if you are reading this post, and plan on attending the festival, you will no doubt see me walking around asking questions and handing out my business cards. You will also see me working as Security as I have also volunteered my experience to help the Sacramento Pagan Pride Festival as a thank you for allowing me this great opportunity!

I will also ask any of the people.attending to offer their opinions here in the comments of the future posts. This way, anyone planning to attend next year’s festival will have one more place to look for reviews and a written record of what they could expect from the Sacramento Pagan Pride Group!

I look.forward to meeting everyone this weekend! I look even more forward to seeing the performers and vendors having a great time with the massive crowds!

Blessed Be Everyone!

What The Sacramento Pagan Pride Festival Means To Me

Time keeps on ticking towards the Sacramento Pagan Pride Festival, and boy am I excited! Busy, but excited!

I have never been a part of something like this before due to the fact I had felt so alone as a Pagan in Sacramento because I didn’t take the time to open my eyes. Which got me thinking about perception. I perceived like I was one of a few, but in reality, I wasn’t.

How many Pagans out there feel the way I had felt? Even if there is one person who feels this way, it is already too many.

My point is, this festival is not just a place to have a good time. That will already occur, but this is a time to enjoy each other’s company while feeling the blessings bestowed upon us by the Lord and Lady! To reach out and feel the warmth of love in each and every strange face we have the privilege of meeting. Knowing that we don’t have to hide who we are, if only for a few hours a day.

This Pagan Pride Festival means so much more to me than words can describe! As I said before, this is a chance for me to feel a part of something. This is a chance for me to introduce my 11 year old stepson to my belief structure. This is a chance for me to feel the acceptance I have been missing since the Forest Moon Grove in Iraq.

Take a look inward, what does the Sacramento Pagan Pride Festival mean to you? I would love to hear it!

Sacramento Pagan Pride – The Meeting of the Minds

Tonight I had the wonderful opportunity to meet the wonderful people who are running the Sacramento Pagan Pride Festival!

I have not been so comfortable with meeting new people since I was in Iraq with the Forest Moon Grove at my first meeting! Everyone was so welcoming and joyful with me, my wife, and my daughter that I praise the Lord and Lady for bringing them all into my life! It has been a while since I could sit with a group of people and speak about my beliefs without worry of both ridicule and scorn!

This meeting was to finalize plans for the Sacramento Pagan Pride Festival slated to be on September 21st and 22nd. This was also the first first meeting I had attended due to my late entry into the group.

We all had a great time, though some of the members could not attend for various reasons, and I think the meeting went very well!

The meeting didn’t start right away, which was nice, for it gave my wife and me some time to introduce ourselves and mingle with the group members as they had arrived. During this time, the group leader and host, Yagsili Gryphon was out back preparing Tri Tip and Chicken on the BBQ.

After the food was done cooking, we all sat down and started eating. The food was absolutely wonderful! The tri-tip was superbly seasoned, the chicken was fabulous, and some of the members had brought dishes for all to enjoy! Everything about our dinner tonight was wonderful!

While we were eating, a few of the members started discussing the level of knowledge within new Pagans in the world. The main point being, that they were learning without much guidance. That some of these people were getting lost within the fray of the pages within the books that they read at book stores, and really don’t have anyone to show them, or guide them into the art and practice of our faith and love of the God and Goddess!

This struck a chord within my soul! I know exactly what they were talking about because I was in the same boat not one month ago!

I have had one teacher, you know of him, Eric Cooper when I was a young soldier in Iraq. I cannot tell you how much I grew as a Pagan in that short period! Ever since then, I have felt lost. Not necessarily because I always need someone there to hold my hand. But, because I still have a lot to learn.

As I explained to Yagzili’s wife, my wife and I both have not been entirely involved in our faith for a very long time. That even though we had found the Pagan Path when we were young, we never truly were involved. So, even as we have been “Pagan” for a long time, we are still very new and have a lot to learn. Which is why the Goddess and God have given us the gift of the Sacramento Pagan Pride Festival!

After this discussion about knowledge in newly found Pagans, the conversation naturally flowed into what the goal was for the Pagan Pagan Pride Festivals: Education.

There will be a lot of opportunities at the Sacramento Pagan Pride Festival to learn about different paths, the basic tools, and anything else you wish to know! All you have to do is ask. There was discussion about having individuals designated to answer questions about the faith; even having an information booth to make it easier for people to find this information!

Even if these items are not implemented due to time and space restrictions, there is no reason one should not walk away with something new they have learned! Because, even if there is no information booth or designated people to ask questions to, there will be a lot of opportunities to expand your knowledge. From classes to rituals, there is going to be something for everyone!

So, if by chance, you find yourself in Sacramento on the 21st and 22nd of September, stop by the Fair Oaks VFW and meet people in Percect Love and Perfect Trust! Learn about something that you may not have known existed before then! Come to the Sacramento Pagan Pride Festival and just be in the presence of the Lord and Lady! They’ll be there!

Morrighan’s Trove: Our Most Exciting Project

We here at Morrighan’s Trove, will be working pretty heavily on getting set up to write the largest group of posts in our short history!

As previously stated, I have been given permission from the Sacramento Pagan Pride to report on the upcoming Festival on the 21st and 22nd of September.

I already have at least four articles I would like to write about the Sacramento Pagan Pride Festival! This will help break up what could potentially become a very long article that will be hard to read. It will also help me and the Sacramento Pagan Pride Organization keep the marketing of their organization going!

I am really excited about this! I have been meditation and asking my Lord and Lady for guidance in this, my largest project I have ever taken on!

I just ask that you, my loyal reader, send some positive and creative energy my way to help me on this! Even if it is just a quick thought wishing me well! Thoughts are magick, thoughts are energy!
